The world's highest altitude photovoltaic and energy storage project has commenced construction in Shannan, Tibet.

Tibet Shannan, the world's highest-altitude photovoltaic and energy storage project, has commenced construction at an elevation of 5,046 meters, surpassing the previous record.

The project is substantial, featuring the installation of 166,760 high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon modules and 32 transformers. The construction period is set at just five months.

It is expected to generate an average of 155,570 million kilowatt-hours annually, with an annual operational duration of 1517 hours. The project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 129,400 tons per year, thereby improving air quality.

The project integrates intelligent operations and maintenance to enhance efficiency. It not only promotes energy transition but also creates jobs and supports rural revitalization.
